You may live in Jamaica and not have a weekend to spare, or you may be visiting with one free day and no plan to book a room. A day retreat fits both. One Day For You is a full day at the YAI Wellness Oasis in Pondside, Yallahs, St. Thomas, about 40 minutes from Kingston, with no overnight stay.
Below you will find what the day includes, how groups are split up, what to pack, and how a day compares with a weekend.
The short answer
One Day For You costs $99 per person, and a $25 deposit holds your spot. You pick your own arrival time, then move through a welcome drink, a pond-side adventure, Bar Mouth Beach, a beach walk, Rope Wall and Aerial Hammocks, a meal and drink, INNERISM time, a villa tour and a bonfire.
What does a day retreat in Jamaica include?
The day has nine parts, from the welcome drink to the bonfire. Because you choose when to arrive, it runs as a flow and not as an hour-by-hour timetable.

- Welcome drink, to arrive and settle in.
- Pond-Side Adventure: a hike, jog or run.
- Bar Mouth Beach: swim or sit by the water.
- A beach-side walk along the coast.
- Yoga Experience: Rope Wall, Aerial Hammocks and yoga. If any of these is new to you, ask what to expect when you book.
- A meal and a drink, both included.
- A tour of the Ocean View Villa.
- INNERISM: The Journey Within, personal time with Subhadra's own method.
- A bonfire under the stars.
Subhadra describes the Rope Wall as a place "to hang up the weight of the world." If the wall is new to you, read our guide to rope wall yoga before you come.
What time does a day retreat start?
There is no single start time to put in your calendar, because you choose your arrival time. Confirm the flow of the day when you book, especially if you are driving from Kingston or organizing a group.
Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) in Kingston is the nearest airport. The package details don't mention transport, parking or how far ahead you must book, so ask about those before you travel.
Can I book a day retreat for a group?
Yes. Groups of 1 to 50 can book One Day For You, and each person can book and pay individually. Nobody has to collect everyone's money.
Big groups are split into smaller rotations:
- Up to 6 guests per Aerial Hammocks session
- Up to 6 guests per Rope Wall session
- Up to 15 guests per staff member
So a group of 40 moves through the day in pieces instead of all at once. Tell us your numbers when you book and the team will plan around them.
What should I bring to a one-day retreat?
Pack for movement, the beach and an evening outdoors. For the sun, the CDC's sun-exposure guidance recommends SPF 15 or higher applied at least 20 minutes before you go out, reapplied at least every two hours and after swimming or heavy sweating. It also advises shade in the middle of the day and plenty of non-alcoholic fluids.
Here is the checklist:
- Comfortable clothes for walking, stretching and yoga
- Swimwear and a towel
- A change of clothes for the evening
- Sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses
- A reusable water bottle
- Walking or running shoes
- Sandals for the beach
- A light layer for the bonfire
- Any medication you need during the day
- A journal, if you want one for INNERISM time
A meal and drink are included, but the package lists no menu or dietary policy, so mention allergies or dietary needs when you book. It also doesn't say whether mats and props are provided, so ask first if you would rather bring your own.
Weather can affect outdoor activities, so check the plan with us if conditions look poor. Photography etiquette isn't stated either. Ask before photographing other guests.
Is a day retreat right for me?
It is a good fit if you want a complete wellness day without staying overnight. That could be you if you live in Jamaica, are already on the island, want to bring a group, or want to try the Oasis before committing to a longer retreat.
It is the wrong choice if you want a resort holiday, nightlife, a room, or several days away from your normal responsibilities. If you want more time to settle in, look at the Wellness Weekend Retreats.
You don't need to be an advanced practitioner. Tell us about your experience, any injuries and other health needs before you take part. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health says yoga is generally safe for healthy people when done properly, and advises pregnant people, older adults and people with health conditions to talk with a health care provider and an instructor about their individual needs (NCCIH yoga safety guidance).
Is it safe to swim at Bar Mouth Beach?
Only if you can swim safely in changing ocean conditions. The ocean may be deep and conditions can change without warning, so the beach part of the day is no reason to ignore your limits.
Our safety notice says:
- Non-swimmers are strongly advised not to enter the ocean.
- Never swim alone.
- Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
- Do not enter the water during rough seas, strong currents or bad weather.
You can still enjoy the beach by sitting near the water or taking the beach-side walk. Swimming is optional.
Should I choose a day retreat, weekend retreat or week-long retreat?
It depends on the time you have and the kind of break you need. A day gives you the full One Day For You experience with no accommodation, a weekend gives you a longer stay, and a week-long option depends on the host's current program and terms.
